Yes.

People bitch more in general about stuff that is free. If people have to fork 
out hard-earned cash up front, then they 
do more research up front. If it comes free and doesn't work *exactly* how they 
want it to (which is usually outside the 
specification of the product), then they feel *mortified* that their 
hard-earned cash has bought them a less than 
perfect product. At this point, they have long-forgotten that the thing they 
"bought" was free.

And the new world stinks. Weirdness, I can cope with (and contribute to) - 
stink, not so.
