Hello,

After reading through many of the threads and emails,
I'd like to ask ow we can simplify things. We
discussed some of these things during the Developer
Summit (naming, branding, votes, non-participants,
etc) and it seems we need to make progress on these
efforts.

At least we have a new Indiana distro delivered as
promised. A little buggy, but it is there to look at.

Sara spoke up and I just thought of why really care
about the branding of the reference distro?? We can
make our own distros and call it what WE want. We can
even brand it the way we want. I know your points, but
I'd hope we could put it on some wiki or get on a
conference call to discuss in detail with the OGB.
Then, maybe some meeting notes about what happened.

The distro is out and it got branded as "OpenSolaris
Developer Preview". That is just a starting point. We
could have called it "The Flying Pig"... maybe not.

I'm going to point out something -- just WHO is
involved inthe OpenSolaris community we speak of???
How many active and voting members?!? What issues were
raised and voted on or discused with this
community?!?! Where are all the docs of the meetings
and conference call info to talk to the OGB and
whomever are leaders of ther groups/projects??? {These
are actually posted for some pojects, but not common
knowledge to all}.

We do need to stay focused and debate wisely... ;o)

~ Ken
