Hi Is there any possibility for adding any new package to the upgraded boot environment before doing luactivate and init 6? In such a case the version `uname -a` does not give the upgraded version.

Did you forget to luactivate and init 6? uname -a will give you the correct version for the current BE. If in doubt, try lustatus.
