Forget it. If there was someone in that camp that was actually capable of thinking up, designing and implementing something that even remotely resembled ZFS... ...they would have done so by now. Have you read about Btrfs? It's supposed to be GNU/Linux's answer to ZFS. But if you look at the features / architecture... it's stuck somewhere in the last century, based on old concepts. And... it's nowhere near ready. ZFS was available and production-ready almost a year ago. Of course, the "problem" was that it was on an OS GNU/Linux fanboys despise. They're hopelessly behind.
