Yeah, but you sorta need SATA, which is newer than most of the other
things you list here:

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but it was US$100, plus or
minus $10. There was a nice selection of similar boards, from $60 to
$150, with varying numbers of SATA/USB ports, memory slot counts and
speed, onboard video options, etc, and I forget whether I chose the
just-under or just-over US$100 one.

Given that it's got a Core 2 CPU, you shouldn't be surprised that the
answer to the second question is "no". It's a Socket 775 board.
