Hi, I have the new intel G45 chipset, and I saw support for it in b107.
However, I have trouble booting into the GUI installer. I get booted into the text console. I tried various things, but no success yet. I know that 1) vesa and intel driver can both get me into gnome (following http://blogs.sun.com/sch/entry/indiana_vesa_if_you_need) # /usr/X11/bin/xinit /usr/bin/dbus-launch gnome-session -- 2a) If I do that with root, I can run gui-install from a terminal to get it running. But when I get to the fdisk dialog, the screen saver asks me for password (pass: opensolaris). The screen saver (apparently) authenticates, but then tells me that the password expired. 2b) If I try the above with jack, I seem to get into the installation desktop. (with the device installer icon, and "install opensolaris" icon). I click on "open solaris", but nothing happens. 3) svcadm gdm enable # doesn't give me gnome 4) the embedded NIC isn't detected. 5) dmesg has no output The motherboard I am using is: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33388&vpn=G45T-M2&manufacture=ECS/ELITEGROUP I really wish I could get it working : ( Howard _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
