oh yay! i tried 2008.11, and it's working now : )
Now i just need to figure out how to get X to display in higher
resolutions... The highest it allows me is 1024 * 768.
I know that my monitor takes these config:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "Monitor Model"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 24-83
VertRefresh 48-76
Modeline "1600x1050" 139.83 1600 1704 1872 2144 1050 1051 1054
1087 -HSync +VSync
Modeline "1440x990" 118.08 1440 1528 1680 1920 990 991 994 1025
-HSync +VSync
EndSection
But i can't figure out how to jump out of X to a tty to stop X and so
I can run Xorg -configure
