Brian, I'm actually not having any problems with the sound on any of my OpenSolaris boxes. I was just trying to help out some of the people like eldomir, anil2009, and ceezy10, etc. who were having problems in this thread: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=395746 These guys (plus lots of other people) have opened up a lot of threads both at opensolaris.org and at opensolaris.com). I'm just involved in the whole "being part of a community" thing where you volunteer your free time to troubleshoot and help out other people who are stuck on something.
