I agree with the two Alans in that the tone of postings in this thread
has sharply deteriorated.

Upon rereading it, however, it seems to me that the thread reflects
a deeply rooted frustration in a part of the user/developer community.
Resorting to flames in a mailing list discussion is obviously not the 
best way to overcome this frustration. :-)

However, what is?  I am really at a loss here.  Do people have
constructive suggestions?  What would be a good forum to work on
improving the "perceived non-usability" of OpenSolaris in an
enterprise environment?

Having presented on IPS and AI at the two last OSDevCon events,
I know that there is interest for OSOL in the enterprise.  There
are people working on it, using it, and deploying systems in
such environments.

Will things be better after Oracle/Sun is finally passed?  I think
a feature roadmap/timeline for the S10->OSOL transition would help.
