Thank you very much for the tips artem! I've been studying and making progress. I think I've got it all figured out now what is needed to make this Option Icon 225 USB 3G HSDPA modem to work on OpenSolaris.
Its device identifier is : usbaf0,6971 Globetrotter HSDPA It was initially recognized by OpenSolaris as a USB-storage device only (this device is a combo-it is a 3G modem that acts as a storage device also - storage side has Windows driver installation application that launches automatically if you insert the USB-stick into Windows machine). Ok, what I did was - I edited /etc/driver_aliases file and inserted this line: usbsacm "usbaf0,6971" ..and rebooted. But when I check the syslog (/var/adm/messages), I can see that it is still not recognized properly. It appears usbsacm0, not usbsacm2 as its supposed to appear. This, I believe is my only obstacle now. I have already figured out what kind of configuration files I need to write ONCE I get /dev/term/0,1,2,3 created so I am very, very close to solving this issue. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
