For open source projects started by companies (as opposed to individuals),
there is always the suspicion that the company sponsoring the project has a
hidden agenda.

All this waiting only kills momentum and drives people away. Oracle has to
come clean and *explicitly* detail its vision for OpenSolaris and what part
it plays in their business plan to profit over Solaris. We need more than
"we'll keep supporting it".

I'm told Sun was on a path towards great openness. Is Oracle committed to
that or are we going to go backwards ? Right now we can argue as much as we
want (over 100 replies now) and it won't matter unless we get an official
word from them. Otherwise we are only trying to draw a roadmap and long term
plans by picking bread crumbs.

I sent an email to oss.oracle.com asking for the name of their open source
manager or someone that was in charge of community relationship and that has
gone unanswered for a week now. I'm not really surprised to see all the FUD
we are seeing.
