FYI, https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=xf86-video-intel-2.9.1-xorg-server-1.7.3-fixes.patch&package=xorg-x11-driver-video-intel-legacy&project=openSUSE%3A11.3&srcmd5=9d240defdeccb1320edcf92bc02ccf08 is all I had to modify in order to get the 2.9.1 Intel driver (the last version supporting UMS) to build with the 1.8.0 Xorg server.
