Hi Paul,
ZFS might be using more memory than what you would expect in the form of 
ARC cache. Even after tuning the zfs ARC cache size, 
gnome-system-monitor does not report 'correct' memory usage  statistics. 
To be more exact, it shows different statistics from prstat and vmstat. 
So like I mentioned earlier, prstat/vmstat must be seen for reliable 
memory usage statistics until issue is resolved.
