I am also experiencing a SATA related issue as well. Interestingly, i am having the same problem with Ubuntu.
both fail when i get to a few percentage points past 60 percent. i have manually used gparted to create the partitions and also the solaris installer partitioner. Things i have done to point me at the SATA controller are: Brand new WD velociraptor 300, new SATA cable, and different SATA port on the motherboard. One of the things i want to do before i flash the bios is install 08.11 and see what happens. If this fails as well, i believe it is more of a hardware problem. anyone else have some insight? thanks -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
