Hi system5, thanx 4 ur efforts... well i 've been through that i've configured cifs, and it is working too. But the thing is, like when i access the opensolaris \\opensolaris, it prompts me to enter the username and password, i provide that, now the thing is, 1. the username it asks is the one that is able to login to the machine i.e, opensolaris machine. 2. Second once authentication is done. It never prompts for the username and password (i guess its a windows issue). 3. This the thing that i want to know if can happen, that when the user sees the shared folder, he can only access the one, that he is authorized to with the username and password.
