any example of what I'm talking about...

... I installed the amp package from the package manager. I got it working
once, by typing:

 svcadm enable -s apache22

This worked briefly, because I got the message "It worked!" when browsing to
localhost. After that was confirmed, I wanted to set the httpd.conf settings to
point towards my dev websites. So I disabled the apache service (by using
svcadm disable apache22), changed the settings it httpd.conf with vim and
attempted to restart the apache service. Now all I get is "service in
maintenance mode" message and nothing. I've tried removing the package and
re-installing, restarting, everything. For such a simple thing I'm completely
lost. I can't even get any information from Google.

For a complete newb this sort of stuff makes OpenSolaris very unavailable.
Unless someone can help me out here, the only option I can really see is to
reinstall the entire Operating System and try again. "Walking on eggshells" not
to screw it up again.

I realise that it's my own ignorance that is the problem. My only point is that
the lack of novice-level help makes OpenSolaris really unavailable to total
newcomers to the open-source-unix-like world such as myself.
