By the phrase "make Windows work" you don't mean that you're trying to install a CDE based X-windows environment, do you? I think CDE contains encumbered code in it that doesn't belong to Sun, so they couldn't include it in OpenSolaris, although regular Solaris 10 still has CDE for backwards compatibility.
Oh, how I do miss that purple-and-vomit colored CDE desktop I have on my old Sun Blade 100 that's running Solaris 9 on it ;-) Seriously though, the blue nimbus GUI GNOME theme they have going on in OpenSolaris 2008.05 right now is SERIOUSLY cool looking. I just love the way it looks with all the dark blue swirls and stuff and I hope they never change it. If I ever install 2008.11 and get something different than what I am now already used to using in Indiana, like, uhhhh, a crazy psychedelic Ubuntu Orange Aquafresh color-scheme, I'm going to be pissed. lol -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
