Hi, I use OpenSolaris on a Dell XPS M1710 and it detects all of my hardware automatically upon first boot. That includes the nVidia 7900 GS video card, the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG, the Intel 82801G HD Audio Controller and the Broadcom BCM5752 Ethernet Card.
