I've got Dl180 G5s, 2x quad core 2.5GHz, 8Gb RAM, P400 RAID controller with 8x 500Gb SATA drives. Use latest cpqary3 drivers and get hold of the hacucli command line array control software. I enabled the write caches on the drives.
The thing flies now. I've seen disk I/O peak at over 250MB/s. I've got two logical disks set up on the controller. One mirror pair for the system disks and the other 6 drives in a RAID10 volume. It's accessed via a zfs pool. So far its doing everything I was hoping it would. The e200s gave me some trouble. I couldn't get more than 40MB/s through the disks, regardless of config. Swapping them for P400s fixed everything. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
