Well, the host operating system is the instance that manages all the hardware. All guest systems either use emulated hardware or paravirtualized drivers. I suppose you talk about snv_66 with Xen support. That build allows you to run Solaris as dom0/host for Xen, aswell as domU/guest with paravirtualization (more or less means that it'll be able to indirectly use the host hardware). -mg This message posted from opensolaris.org
