Ian,

A *full* install of the OpenSolaris LiveCD?  I think
you're mistaken, but would happy to have you prove me
wrong.  I don't recall ever seeing any option about
what gets installed. It's all rather too Ubuntuish to
suit me.

I ran into this previously on a desktop that had a
working NIC and found instructions to load the ss-dev
package which worked fine.    In the desktop case it
was annoying, but in the laptop instance it's a big
obstacle.  I've been given pointers to binary packages
of Murayama's drivers I can install.
