rhb, depending on how you installed the snv_86, may not have installed all the dev tools. Drill down thru the file tree in the DVD and find "install_devtools.sh" in the DeveloperTools directory. did you try running this as root, should have a working compiler after that. will install all the tools on the DVD. gl.
