udippel,

1. if you dont know what to do, DO NOT HIT the RESET button. figure it out, I
would not be surprised if the your troubles are being caused by this.

maybe find a laptop and set it up next to you so you can read manpages and such
online while trying to upgrade. i find instant answers to my questions quite
relaxing

2. do not use fdisk, learn how to use the format program from the console.
a. su, etc.
b. '# format' , select your drive and read the menu
c. --- 'partition' ------ (not fdisk)
d. ---- 'help' ------, read the menu, print to see your available
slices, please dont rely on the installer harddisk partition script, it kinda
bites
e. you will see you got lots of slices left.

3. from the luactivate man page:

The first time you boot from a newly created BE,
Live Upgrade software synchronizes this BE with the
BE that was last active. .......... "Synchronize"
              here means that certain system
files and directories are copied from the last-
active BE to the BE being booted.

so, you shoul dhave said yes, please synchronize for me and thanks btw
opensolaris. hehe

4. dude, you can run luactivate on any BE you want, any day of the week, dont
like your nv91 as default BE? then luactivate nv86 and regroup, want to test
anew BE you just made, as btw you should be doing with the nv91 that was
partially installed. then please try the failsafe get your self in there and
try to manually install the two missing packages.

5. yet another tutorial

6. TURN OFF the USB DRIVE. hehe. you can always turn it back on and now you
have one less source of possible confusion.
