Network isn't an issue either. You've got an atheros wifi, which is best supported card under OpenSolaris (and linux, bsd etc). I've got radeon 9700 in mine, so yours should be just fine.
Latest SXDE is out today with tons of stuff... so I think you've got to re-download it :-P Nothing looks like an issue... when you want to install, just delete the ext3 partition. Installer will give you a choice of using entire disk or just the empty space.. you know the drill. Also with just 8 GB, it'd be a bit tight so don't make many slices.. just a swap (~512MB... actual ram size is preferred, but you haven't got much space), and rest in /.
