Hi,

You can very well replace 7x500 with 7x1000 that's possible by replacing them 
one by one (and some luck... If any other disk dies when you're resilvering, 
you're dead) but no way to increase or decrease the number of disks. That's in 
the works, but since no big demand for it, its fairly low priority.
