Assuming that you have any storage structure with more than just a
single giant dir, it's probably simplest to use mirrors.  You can get
1.5tb drives now :)

I would not stripe mirrors, because that adds complexity.  It's easy
enough to have 2 shares, like 'music' and 'pictures' and have each be
a 1.5tb mirror.
