I'm surprised wireshark isn't there yet; I think it was approved in PSARC 2007/334. I wonder what the holdup is? Likewise, nano was approved in PSARC/2007/366. So both of them should probably show up eventually.
Media players...there's always the problem with codec licensing, especially anything redistributable. The separately purchasable Fluendo codecs were supposed to help there, but it's a distinct step to take. Maybe if someone wrote a script to put them in the right place and take care of any of the ugly workarounds reported to be needed (symlinks to libraries or whatever), that might make it less of a pain (assuming that most people think that anything short of zero-effort gratification is a pain). -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
