Check out detail of 6690194 it's a 32bit issue, that is why there are strange issues with fdisk labels/VTOCs when partition starts after or exceeds 4GB limit. should be fixed in snv_90 when that comes out! http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6690194
