I have a similiar but not identical problem. Install to USB flash went without
errors
and I have verified as far as I?m able to that everything is ok on the
installed file system (see bug 1632 that I filed on this). Grub loads and
displays the splash screen and menu when booted off the flash drive, but
as far as I can tell the kernel never loads after this, impossible to enter the
debugger even if -kv is added to the kernel boot command. Sorry to say I have
not been able to take this any further...
