I recently started using OpenSolaris. After installing from ISO and getting the feel for the OS, I changed to the dev packages and updated.
Now I have FireFox 3.5 and Java Update 15 (would be nice to have 16. I'll work on that when I get this problem sovled). The issue is this. In the gnome-terminal, keyboard input is not displayed. The cursor does not move and remains blinking. However, the commands I am typing in are executed and the terminal responds with output as expected. For instance, if I type (blindly, since it does not appear) "java -version", I get output indicating Java version 15. Incidentally, the column alignment is also offset further and further to the right at each new line. If this can be fixed through the terminal itself, I can use a text editor to type the commands in, then cut and paste them into the terminal. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
