Hmm, the import didn't bring back the C9T4d0 device.
Let me clarify the chronology of events
1) Physically rearranged the disks in-chassis, killing one physically
2) Replaced the disk with a new one
3) The array showed up in degraded status but with one disk (c9t5d0) showing as
having 'corrupt data'. I was expecting it to show a missing disk
4) I couldn't have the disk replaced (zpool replace -f tank c9t5d0 c9t5d0 b/c
it gave an error message that the disk was already 'active'
5) I decided to give it the dd treatment (erase the 1st and last 1mb) after
making c9t5d0 offline (zpool offline tank c9t5d0)
6) the array became unavailable saying insufficient replicas but the with
'cannot open' on c9t5d0 BUT the c9t4d0 not showing up at all
7) ran zpool destroy which churned for a while and did nothing
8) rebooted , with the pool still showing up in an unavailable state, tried
readding c9t4d0 with no luck
9) left it overnight and the pool vanished
10) recreated it

Just trying to figure out what happened to c9t4d0 and what would've been the
right course of action for both c9t4d0's vanishing act and c9t5d0's replace
