Newbies may be out of luck. You just have to know that most Sun documentation, for a lot more than just OpenSolaris, is at docs.sun.com. From there, you can find it pretty easy from the software tab on the top of the page. For a different perspective, there's also opensolaris.com (note the last level). I haven't checked it enough to see what documentation links there are on there, but there appear to be some. Maybe there should be more "hello clueless newbie, here's what you need!" links scattered around opensolaris.org. But I get the feeling that site is more for folks who are already using it, tinkering with it, or whatever, and rather weak in let's hold hands with newbies stuff. Don't get me wrong, newbies are people too, and any community needs 'em to keep it going. _I_ just don't want to sit around with them and sing Kumbaya. Fortunately, I don't work for Sun nor maintain any of these web sites, so I don't have to. Once in awhile, out of the sheer goodness of my heart, I post random answers; they may even be accurate in some sense. That's my part, and it's as far as I want to go. If there's some place you think such a link ought to be, you can always go over to website-discuss and suggest it. (which is to say, I don't think there are any actual links to it on opensolaris.org right now, outside of mention in the forums) Is the current infomation on opensolaris.org poorly organized and incomplete (assuming you want to be able to start at one site and navigate from there to everything you need)?
