I have only install from repositories after the first install. If your laptop is on the network and you have a fast connection then just switch to the right publisher /usr/bin/pkg set-publisher -P -O http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev/ opensolaris.org Then run the pkg update either from the command line or GUI and it will create the new BE for you.
