Perhaps, but then again it is a cheap and easy way to get VLC into OSol without having to compile from source which depending on the software can be rather tricky especially if a spec file hasn't been developed for it... even with spec files as I still don't understand how to use them yet! I think that Blastwave is no more and of course there is always Sun Freeware which is tedious as dependencies need to be installed manually. Yeah OSol can be a bit tricky with multimedia apps especially streaming audio/video. For that I went FreeBSD on my internet radio station but would love to see all the juicy software bits in the OSol repos. I think it will just take a lot of time to get there though, that is IF it manages to get there in the first place as I know there are various licensing issues bla bla bla.... I mean wouldn't it be so awsome if OSol could totally dismember and dismantle Linux altogether as a full replacement?? - I am not fully there yet but then I have Vbox for the Linux stuff I can't get working in OSol.
