Have a look at icecast and darkice.... Also a little hint: next time you want to try something in OpenSolaris which you're not sure about if will work or not. Configure a Zone or VM instance using Vbox. That will at least save you the hassle of having a non-functional package which you can't remove or do anything with that clogs up the system. I find that Solaris has yet to evolve with multimedia so I ended up setting a streaming radio station up with FreeBSD. You could keep the Solaris install as your host and use a FreeBSD or Linux guest in order to stream. If you wanted files directly from your hard drive then install VBox guest additions which will mean that you have access. Good luck! Kaya
