FWIW - I see this 128G limit as well. I didn't know about the other VMs 
being able to see them correctly.

Hmm, this: http://www.vmware.com/support/gsx3/doc/disks_types_gsx.html, 
suggests that it is/was VMware:

    Physical disks may be set up on both IDE and SCSI devices. Physical 
disks can be as
    large as 128GB when configured as IDE or 256GB when configured as SCSI.

Hmm, that was for GSX 3. The current docs state that virtual disks can 
be 950GB and physical disks can
be 2TB.

I'll keep poking around.
