Hi Ian: Indeed ... I actually performed the Live Upgrade. Though it succeeded cosmetically, there is something that has changed with GRUB that is not letting it boot (the kernel and module commands are different now, probably to work more in-line with how it does on other O/S's). So I updated the GRUB lines (dynamically on the GRUB GUI) as instructed as indicated here:
============================================================= multiboot is not longer used to boot the Solaris Operating System. The grub entry should be changed to: kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix <-- module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive <-- See http://www.sun.com/msg/SUNOS-8000-AK for details. Press any key to reboot. ============================================================= But when I press 'b' to boot the corrected entry, it hangs with a blank screen indefinitely. Bummer.
