You need to specify where the default boot media is. On x86 you tend to specify this in the bios. On a Sparc at boot time type 'Stop a' Then 'boot cdrom' should boot from the removable media.
Other options include 'boot disk' 'boot net' 'boot tape' >From the prom type help boot' You can set up the default here as well -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of Mark Wagner Sent: Sun 06/07/2008 02:57 To: [email protected] Subject: [osol-help] How to install I've got a SunBlade 100 with a blank hard drive and an OpenSolaris install DVD (Sparc, not x86). What do I do now? Simply putting the DVD in the DVD drive and turning the computer on causes the computer to try to netboot. If there's documentation for this, it's well-hidden. As an aside, the only keyboard I've got is an ordinary PC keyboard. Is the lack of the extra keys that a Sun keyboard has going to cause problems?
