I had just found it since the pkg GUI has a nice file list option when
SUNWgnome-config-editor is highlighted

This is strange, I have compiz enabled and have 6 workspaces in
b129. Checking some of my settings:
/usr/bin/gconf-editor
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options
The setting for hsize is the setting for workspaces, mine is set at 6.
