Additional info- This sytem is usually connected internet through etherfast port to a lynksys (cisco) ethernet/wifi router. Router is connected to a DSL broadband modem.
Other devices present are wifi- 2 microcomputers and 1 wireless printer. The other microcomputers and the printer where powered down after I started on this problem with no change. Didn't think it would matter that early in a stage of an install, as it would NOT know a network name, but did it anyway - just to rule that out. I know that all this hardware is functional and working in other OS'es.
