Personally, I've never recommended anyone use BFU who isn't testing a specific kernel build that's not yet integrated. BFU is *NOT* an upgrade facility and does not update the OS, just the kernel and some core utilities. Trying to go from build 93 to build 134 with BFU will almost certainly break your system, as you'll not get upgrades to the other 80% of the OS packages, many of which the BFU'ed bits depend on. (For instance, I believe during those builds, OpenSSL moved from ON (which BFU covers) to SFW (which BFU doesn't), so a BFU will remove OpenSSL and leave anything using it unable to run.) -- -Alan Coopersmith- alan.coopersm...@oracle.com Oracle Solaris Platform Engineering: X Window System _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
