I just installed opensolaris 2009.06 on a desktop and laptop. My desktop looks
fine (dual boot with win7 and have an nvidia 7300 video card in it). I'd really
like to get a better resolution on my laptop to have things looking sharp and
not fuzzy. I've read that there isn't a default Xorg.conf file and I'm stumped
here. The Device Driver Utility shows that the vgatext driver is being used.
I've looked at my Xorg.0.log file and the "ati" module is being loaded so I was
hoping that the radeon_hd driver would be used (I *think* my laptop's video
card is supported by this - I'm not certain though). I'm using SunOS 5.11
snv_111b i86pc.

Laptop details are as follows:
Sony Vaio VGN-FW560F
Dual boot with Win7
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Desired resolution is 1600 X 900

Is there a reasonable way to get this to work?

Thanks,

Todd
