Ok, Jon success here with xmms!

I started experimenting after I saw your last mail with xmms. I noticed
it wouldn't even load a mp3 file, it just kicked them out, plus if I
loaded a playlist of mp3's, which it would do, I found, when I hit the
play button, it just run through the files without playing them! I
came to the conclusion there must still be some SuSE provided files
installed that was blocking the use of xmms & mp3.

I went into YaST2 to investigate and found all xmms files installed were
Packman builds except one. The xmms-plugins (suse) conflicted with
xmms-lib-mad (packman), so I removed the suse package, installed only
Packman builds and there ya go! XMMS now plays & loads without
problems, although I still think they need to update it to GTK+ look.
