I have two USB ports on the front of my machine and they are defective.
I have spent the time yet to replace the cable and see if things improve.
This is a 10.2 machine too and not reading the USB stick but I have
three others that are reading it that are 10.2.    So I think your on to
something.  Do you have any other USB devices you plug in and try?
