I appreciate all your suggestions. I also agree with the last three or four.
The problem is the lady sending this is getting quite old and I spent a bit of time already yesterday trying to get her to change the extension type when she saves the file and sends it in email. I don't think I would succeed in getting her over to OO and clearly I already spend way to much time helping older people with their computers to add another dependent to my list ;-) For now, I will try to get her to send in a different file type that I can read or ship the file over to an XP machine and convert it myself and send it back to my wife.
