The X server seems to terminate randomly (black screen) /var/log/messages states "kdm[2786]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly" and I also find some lines beginning with "kernel: NVRM: Xid (0001:00)" I can reproduce the problem by starting Yast --> hardware --> hardware info. Yast starts probing and when I see "monitor" screen turns black. I got a FX5200 videocard with the latest nvidiadriver installed (100.14.19-4) Monitor is configured as (xorg.conf): Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 338 270 HorizSync 30-83 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "MD6155AH" Option "DPMS" VendorName "MED" VertRefresh 50-76 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection Xorg.0.log states: "(WW) NVIDIA(0): Option "CalcAlgorithm" is not used" I've got a nvidia-bug-report.log if needed.
