You could try setting the display's physical size in yhour xorg configuration.
The smaller the display size, the larger the font, IIRC..

Subject: [opensuse] very small font

 Hello !

1) My environment:
 a. Computer: x86
 b. System: openSUSE 10.3 + KDE
 c. Monitor: iiyama LS902UT, max. resolution 1600*1200

2) Problem: when I choose screen resolution: 1600*1200 the default font
size is very small, almost unreadable.
How can I change it ?
I tried: Control Center modules menu -> Appearance & Themes -> Fonts
I changed fonts there but it give no change to the fonts in such
applications like Skype where lists of contacts are displayed with the
same (very small) font.

I hope the question is clear. I am curious to hear the answer.

I wish you good day,
Jan
