The problem is in the number of e-mails in your Inbox folder, most likely. I try to move e-mails out of my Inbox folder fairly soon after I get them so there's usually only 20 e-mails or so in there. I use the Inbox as a reminder for follow-ups and for new incoming e-mails. everything else gets filed in other folders.
