I'm an IT ingineer from France and i'm testing the production (in a lab).
First of all, many thanks to this project, it's a very good initiative for
many people as me.
I have many questions i'm havn't found in the wiki .
*Testing:*
- I installed this morning the virtual appliance without any problem (Pales
one).
- I understood that i'll need a dhcp server, so i'll installed it :) no
problem.
- i'm booted and started a HP thinclient (T610) without problem (dhcp, pxe
...).
Very great.
*miscellaneous*
- Speaking: I understood that this project is german. But why many of wiki
input are in german ... the international speaking remain the english one
(and sorry for that, but i'm french, i speak a little english .. but not at
all german speaking :) )!
- Documentation: i can't find any documentation nor on the website, nor in
the wiki/sourceforge : is it normal?
*How-to*
I'm looking at booting a personnalized linux on a restricted network (no
internet access) with diskless thinstation or diskless standard pc.
I wish i could make :
- Add files / apps / services:
Example: Personnalized wallpaper on one/most/all thinstation .. And
no, it's not a detail.
Lock screen with password (there is an item in the
gui for user management ... is the link possible?)
Add other application (with or without service) (any)
..
Is it possible to integrate [so modify] with a
directory (nis, ad [samba/winbind] ) for user management on the guest?
(previous line)
add/modify any file to the rootfs (
picture/icon/configuration) [ example: icon for desktop links, special
configuration for ssh , remove vnc client ...........]
- Create personnalized rootfs:
Is it possible to create a root fs with existing tools ? (buildroot
for example)
in the GUI:
- What is the purpose of user item : can i had an user which be propragated
on thin client?
- Do i need a debian repository to work with the project ? (no internet
connection)
- How to build/add an application distributed to guests?
