I figured that had to be it...
I've heard of people running into problems with that sort of thing across a
great many number of development platforms... How to escape from, and/or
not deal with certain characters in a string or other input.
I, just for kicks, will take a look at it and see if I can't get it working
with a _ or something...

The targets feature is something that surely will eventually be extended
in various ways.
Reactivating the ranges you desire might be pretty easy as
it might only be prevented because we do not allow the character "-"
in the target strings. I'd like to discuss possible sideeffect first before
(re)activating this feature.
If you look into the GSA and manager source code you will
quickly find the respective RE you can change on your own to
test ;-)
